Safety Safari and Rick Stewart Battle Rain

4:30 p.m. - Racing is through for the day. Rain started falling in earnest at 3:45 p.m. and the
few cars remaining in the staging lanes and in front of the tower headed for the pits.
Weather permitting, racing will resume at the 44th annual K&N Filters Winternationals at 8:15
a.m. Saturday, February 21.
Friday's qualifying was interrupted in the middle of the second qualifying session for Top
Alcohol Dragster, with several of the top cars still in the staging lanes. That round will not
be completed, but runs that were made prior to the rain will count toward qualifying for
eliminations.
Friday's scheduled qualifying rounds for Pro Stock, Funny Car, and Top Fuel were cancelled. Those Profesional eliminators are scheduled for two more qualifying rounds before beginning final eliminations Sunday.
In the Sportsman ranks, final qualifying for Stock Eliminator was completed prior to the rain, but qualifying has not been finalized for Super Stock, Super
Gas, Stock Eliminator, Competition Eliminator and the two Top Alcohol eliminators.
